United Service Lodge of Derbyshire No. 3993 was formed to allow the officers of the Derbyshire Volunteer Battalion, The Sherwood Foresters, to remain in touch after demobilisation in 1919. The Lodge was for service members, a criteria which remained in place until 1970 when changed social conditions resulted in the abolition of this prerequisite. We do however maintain our military links being a member of the Circuit of Service Lodges and hold a Remembrance Meeting in November each year. The Lodge attracts a steady flow of new members and we offer a happy, lively and active environment with our long standing members engaging with new members to ensure they enjoy their Freemasonry and membership of our Lodge.
